Still On Our Way Back

Well we’re back on America’s time clock and it’s exactly 4:13am as we fly over the Pacific Ocean toward home. While reflecting on our trip, we know that this was something special. Not perfect, but special indeed. Sure we were able to do some touring in various cities in China; yes we got the surprise opportunity to experience Tokyo, Japan (very positive experience by the way); yep,the hotels were all top notch etc. but what made this trip special can be summed up with one word....relationships. Friendships were formed. As noted in previous posts, we’ve met some super people, all of whom were also adopting. Most already had children of their own, whether birth children or previously adopted children. What great parents each of these people are. We are better people because of our time spent with them on this trip. Eston made friends with the Zimmer boys. Wow are they great kids…we bragged on them the whole trip. Mike nicknamed one of em’ Six Pack Zack (Zack – 8 years old) because he has one. Our family is also being brought together more as we definitely went through some new stuff on this trip as a family and we handled it all very well. It’s amazing how God will work in your life if you’re obedient to Him and if you simply exercise his principles. Most notably, is the wonderful relationship that has blossomed between Melissa and our daughter. We have only had her for 11 days now and it’s practically a miracle that they were able to bond in the way they have so quickly. Again, please understand that it hasn’t been easy the whole time. She has painfully endured some genuine grieving for her Chinese foster family. But just as a friend recently noted on our site, LiLi is grieving and bonding simultaneously. God is good and continues to bless us. Thank you for all of your prayers for us and interest in this most recent journey of ours. We will post after we get back home to let everyone know what LiLi thinks of the place we’ve been telling her so much about…..home.

Well there is NO place like home!
American Soil! I can just imagine you all sitting at home in the evening watching movies drinking hot chocolate or spending time outside. Lili watching Eston on his dirt bike...or riding right along side him! Mike tickling Eston and Lili. Melissa reading to them. All the happy congratulations at church! What an adventure that will be!! God Bless You on your return home. we look forward to knowing how everyone will be adjusting. Our prayers will remain with you.

You...Adkins...are an exceptional family and it thrills me to know that you value people and relationships like you do. You have always been an exemplary model of a strong true blue christian family to us. I'm sure you made an impact on the other families as well. What a life changing experience this has been!
Thank you for sharing it with us!!
We love you!
Prayers & Blessings,
Joe & Deborah

Hi you guys,

I still have not been able to leave a message on the blog page….it still continues to ask for a password but it does not give you directions on how to create one.

I am been praying for you and I also know that you will not receive this on your site until you are home. I am sorry you all have had travel bumps, however I know that the four of you have been surrounded by the Lords protective angles. Well home and in comfort soon.

Love you guys and I can not wait to see you.

Hey Poppa – Give me a call when you feel up to it and are refreshed. I’d love to hear more of your story. Leah and I are very excited for you and your family. LiLi is so lucky to have some great Christian, loving parents. We’d like to get together with your family the next time Leah joins me on a trip to the Dallas area.

Girls are loads of fun.
