"One Day In China"

Today while Mike & I were walking behind our daughter, Mike leaned over to me and whispered the following words “my oh my….it’s as if we lined up all of the little girls in the world and personally hand picked her”. I responded by saying “yea, she’s the one we would have picked”.

LiLi continues to grieve outwardly but she’s handling it all like a winner (must be that Adkins blood flowing in her veins)(yes, this is Mike writing…dadgummit). Anyway, Melissa is the one that LiLi adores but she’s warming up to Mike and Eston as you can see in the pics. Our Wednesday started out by all of us loving on each other and just playing and talking. Mike was awake much of the night and took a pic of LiLi and Miss sleeping at about 4:00am (first pic). After eating breakfast downstairs and playing in the one of the play areas, we headed off to a local museum that featured one of the Chinese dynasty’s that existed about 100 years B.C. It is supposedly one of the best museums in all of China. After that, we had lunch at another authentic restaurant where the Chinese food was just incredible (PF Changs is our favorite in the states but there’s no comparison whatsoever). Later, we went for a swim and just continued to enjoy each other as much as possible. Later in the evening after having dinner (we’ve been having room service every night), the kids colored and looked at books.... and later we bounced on the bed and played. Before bed time, Melissa read them a book (LiLi is already starting to repeat words back to us in English). While Melissa put LiLi to bed, Mike and Edge went for a stroll around the hotel to talk and play.... and just visit about whatever Edge wanted to visit about (as it turned out, he had questions about a familiar discussion they have about the difference between being “a winner and being a loser in life”).

We truly hope that we’re not implying that LiLi is perfect or that everything here is perfect….because certainly it is not ! LiLi continues to outwardly grieve and is revealing that she can be very “testy” (understatement) but, certainly we are doing the best we can to express ourselves and our experience here as accurately as is possible (without being too detailed). Bottom line is that we are crazy about HER and we are having a wonderful time. Please continue to share this experience with us and feel free to comment as you feel led. God bless.

This is so much fun...We love looking at this each day and following your journey. Mike looks especially "cute" in his swim cap.

I am sure that LiLi is having a difficult time adjusting, but it is probably more difficult on you guys that it is her. We can see in the pics that she is going to be fine and is bonding with you guys quickly. Each day will be better than the last.

You are great parents and Eston is already a great big brother so LiLi is certainly blessed to have you guys as her forever family.

Can't wait to see you guys.

I don't think the pics could get any cuter ;-)

Hey Eston, when you get home there should be a couple of gifts for you and LiLi to share. Hint: One game is for those rainy days so you'll have something fun to do indoors. The other is used for outdoor fun!

Hello Adkins Four!!

First of all...IMPRESSIVE...that Eston enjoys talking about such grown up issues!!! He will be wise beyond his years no doubt. Secondly...AMAZING...that Lili is already repeating english words!!
If that isn't evidance of how we influence or children...I don't what is!!! In today's pictures you all look like a family that's on vacation!!! Still praying that the Lord continue to BLESS you and bring you FAVOR through this process.

Prayers and Blessings

I am so very excited each day to check your blog. Mike, Zeke and I were in Arkansas the last few days and we went to the library to get online so that we could stay updated with what is going on in China. I love the photos. She is absolutely beautiful. I love the smile on her face in the pic in the pool and when she is hugging Eston. God has spent much time putting the love in ya'lls hearts for her and preparing her to receive you. It is a process that He is carrying you all through. My thoughts are with you throughout the day and my prayer is that you feel God with you every step! God Bless you all!

Mikie,
We arrived Monday mid day, Mom stayed until Wed morning. The house was hot but cooled down except LiLi's room. The vent was closed. No trash in yard that I noticed. Who mowed the grass??? Mom said it rained hard @ your Casa.

How's all in China? How's my little GD?? The pictures are great. Looks like she is bonding to you all!!!! Looking forward to the day we can meet her.
